Chicago-based XO Marshmallow has been cranking out marshmallows for years, and now it’s extended its line to include hemp in the mix. Two flavors are offered: strawberry and spicy chocolate, though both appear to be available only as limited editions, given that the web pages for the products are currently not working.
Both mallows are fluffy, slightly gooey, and moderate in sweetness — and tough to put down once you start eating them. The strawberry version is quite mild with fruit flavor. The spicy chocolate has a little more oomph, though it’s not at all overwhelming on the spice front. Both have a lingering terpene character on the finish, though note that each includes 10mg of hemp-based CBD only, with no THC in the mix.
These are altogether a solid alternative to gummies, tinctures, and other edibles as a delivery vehicle for CBD — though as with any marshmallow product, you’re advised to eat them quickly after purchase, before they harden up. CBD s’mores, anyone?
